Q: What is the typical weather in North Carolina in September?
A: The average high temperature in Charlotte, North Carolina in September is 83°F and the average low is 63°F
Q: When is a good time to arrive at the event?
A: While the formal Welcome Reception starts Sunday, September 21st at 7:00pm EDT (heavy appetizers and cocktails), there are several important seminar breakout sessions that you should consider; the “first timer” seminar starts at 2:00 EDT, the “Concours” seminar begins at 2:30 EDT.
Q: What’s the attire for the event?
A: In general, the Event is resort casual. For the Awards Banquet on Wednesday night, jackets are recommended for men and dresses or slacks & blouses are recommended for ladies. Please refer to the Track Manual for requirements on the track if you are an F1 participant. If you are participating in the Family Track Touring, no special clothing is needed although it’s always a good idea to wear closed-toe shoes and long pants.
Q: What kind of security will be in place at the hotel and at the track?
A: We have contracted with the local police department to provide overnight security on the hotel grounds, and with Charlotte Motor Speedway to provide overnight security at the Track. Security will be present at The Ballantyne Sunday night through Thursday morning. Charlotte Motor Speedway will lock any rented garages inside the paddock. The entire track is locked each night at 7pm. entry is at 7am.
Q: I plan on having my car shipped to the event. Where should I have it delivered?
A: It’s best to have it delivered directly to The Ballantyne. Please do not have it delivered prior to Saturday, September 20th.
Q: I am bringing a trailer to the event, where can I park?
A: There will be limited parking at The Ballantyne in their lot and on the street. There will be plenty of parking at Charlotte Motor Speedway. If you are bringing a semi, please plan on parking at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Q: When can I get access to the Paddock Area at Charlotte Motor Speedway?
A: First, you need to get your wristband at Registration (beginning at noon on Sunday). You will not get access to Charlotte Motor Speedway without a wristband. If you arrive at Charlotte Motor Speedway prior to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, check in at GATE 13. Trailers needing to park at Charlotte Motor Speedway before Monday need to contact track chair Howard Stanton hbstanton@gmail.com
Q: When do I need to have my trailer off Charlotte Motor Speedway premises?
A: All FCA participants and vehicles, transporters, etc., must be off the Charlotte Motor Speedway premises by 7pm Wednesday. For possible exceptions contact track chair Howard Stanton hbstanton@gmail.com
Q: Will the Concours and Track Events be open to the public?
A: No. Unless you have registered for the Annual Meet or are a registered volunteer, there will be no access into these events.
Q: I want to sign up for the Lunchtime Family Track Touring at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Do I need to pay for passengers as well?
A: No, you only need to sign up the person driving.
Q: Can I drive a non-Ferrari during the Lunchtime Family Track Touring at Charlotte Motor Speedway?
A: Yes, but it can’t be a van, truck, SUV, bus, motorcycle, or trike. The Purosangue is considered a crossover and will be allowed for both track touring and to register for the F1 track event.
Q: Will the track supply helmets ?
A: Yes, Charlotte Motor Speedway has helmets, but you can always bring your own as well. Also, please plan on wearing closed-toe shoes and minimize baggy clothing.
Q: Will there be a bus available between The Ballantyne and the track?
A: Only on a limited basis. There will be a shuttle bus that takes participants between The Ballantyne and Charlotte Motor Speedway between 9:00am and 4:00pm on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Q: Is there covered parking at The Ballantyne?
A: No.
Q: Are pets allowed at The Ballantyne?
A: TBD
Q: Will there be anywhere at the hotel where I can wash my car?
A: TBD
Q: Can I bring my own golf cart or scooter to Charlotte Motor Speedway?
A: No
Q: I plan on bringing my SF90. Will there be locations where I can charge it?
A: Yes, we will have areas defined at The Ballantyne and Charlotte Motor Speedway. Refer to your owner’s manual regarding extension cords, but you may consider bringing a low gauge wire extension cord.
Q: Will there be gluten-free and dairy-free options at the meals?
A: Yes, our caterers will label items gluten-free and dairy-free for those that have those allergies. Individual allergies that were listed on your registration will be noted with your Wednesday night plated meal at The Ballantyne.
